FAQ

The work

What am I buying?
A fine art print, produced in a strictly limited edition, made only after it is ordered and finished by hand. Each piece is blind embossed, stamped, numbered, signed, and paired with its own certificate of authenticity.

What does "limited edition" mean here?
The edition size is declared before the first sale and never changes. No artist proofs exist outside the declared count for the Macro Life series. When an edition sells out it is closed forever: never reprinted, reopened, or reissued in another size, format, or process.

How many of each work exist?
Each image in the Macro Life series is released in an edition of 100, split across three sizes: 50 at the smallest, 40 at the middle size, and 10 at the largest. Once a size sells out, it can no longer be ordered.

Is the work framed?
No. Every edition is sold unframed and ships rolled in a protective tube. The framing specification you need is in the care guide that travels with the work.

What is it printed on?
The Macro Life series is printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308 g/m², an archival cotton paper made to last generations. Paper is chosen for each series rather than fixed across the studio, so a future series may use a different one.

Authentication

How do I know my piece is authentic?
Four things travel together and are made to be checked against each other: a blind emboss pressed into the paper margin, studio and series stamps on the back, the hand-written edition number and signature, and a certificate of authenticity carrying the artist's own inked fingerprint.

What is the serial number for?
The serial on your certificate matches the one stamped on the back of your print. The studio keeps the register of every serial issued, which is what allows a piece to be verified later. To have a piece verified, write to studio@bloodlime.art with its serial number.

Ordering and production

When is my piece made?
After your payment is confirmed. Nothing is printed in advance, and nothing is held in stock.

How long does production take?
Up to 15 business days before the work ships. Each piece is printed, hand-finished, numbered, signed, and left to cure before it is packed. Full detail in the Shipping Policy.

Where do you ship?
Within Canada. Deliveries to Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut are available on request. We are actively working to open the United States and further international destinations.

How much is shipping?
Shipping is included in the price for all Canadian provinces, with no separate charge at checkout. For Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and Nunavut, write to us before ordering and we will quote the shipping cost, which is paid separately.

What about taxes?
Canadian sales tax is calculated by the province the work is going to and shown as its own line at checkout, never buried in the price.

Delivery

How does my piece arrive?
Rolled in glassine inside a protective tube, together with its certificate, a printed care guide, and a pair of cotton gloves for handling the surface.

Is a signature required?
Yes. Every shipment travels with signature on delivery, without exception. It is how the studio can prove a work reached the person who bought it.

What if the tube arrives damaged?
Photograph the sealed tube before you open it, keep the tube, the caps, and all packaging, and contact the studio within 48 hours. Do not trim, tape, or attempt any repair. We will send the full claim procedure by email.

What if my piece never arrives?
We reprint and reship. The lost number is retired from the edition and recorded as such, and you receive the next available number, so the edition is never quietly reprinted to cover a loss.

After the purchase

Can I return it?
All sales are final. Each piece is made to order and hand-finished for one collector, so it cannot be returned to stock. Damage in transit and loss in transit are handled separately, through the process above. See the Refund Policy.

How should I care for it?
The printed care guide covers unpacking, handling, framing specification, display, and long-term storage. It is written for the paper you are holding, so it is worth reading before the work is framed. You can read it here, in English or in French, before your work arrives.

Do you sell the same image as an open edition, or license it?
No open editions. Anything about image use is set out in the Terms of Service.
